Anvil Odin Battlecruiser — Star Citizen's Final Concept Ship

The Anvil Odin is the largest and most heavily armed ship ever revealed in Star Citizen — a 752-meter battlecruiser with triple Size 12 cannons, a frontal beam weapon that spans the entire bow, 20 torpedo launch tubes, and enough internal space to house fighter wings, a parliament, and a tram system. Revealed during DefenseCon 2956, the Odin also marks a historic milestone: it is the last ship CIG will ever sell as a concept promotion.

What Is the Anvil Odin?

The Odin is Anvil Aerospace's answer to the question of what a battlecruiser looks like in the Star Citizen universe. A battlecruiser — in naval tradition — combines the firepower of a battleship with the speed profile of a cruiser. The Odin delivers on both. It is not a solo ship in any meaningful sense. You can sit in the pilot seat and fly it alone, but to actually use it — turrets, torpedoes, repair bays, hangar operations — you need an organization behind you.

CIG confirmed on the DefenseCon SC Live stream that the Odin is "the last great concept ship of Star Citizen." No more concept promotions after this. The Odin closes an era of ship reveals that stretches back to the earliest days of the crowdfunding campaign.

Full Armament — Every Weapon on the Anvil Odin

The Odin carries more firepower than any ship previously revealed in Star Citizen. All weapons are custom-built for the ship — no standard Size 12 guns exist in the PU, and you cannot simply walk into a shop and rearm these. Every hardpoint uses ship-specific hardware designed to match the turret geometry.

The frontal beam weapon deserves its own mention. It runs the full length of the bow, combining 12 emitters into a single unified beam. It is the first weapon of its kind at this scale in Star Citizen. The S12 triple mounts alone outgun the largest weapons currently found on the Javelin (S9 max) and match the Idris rail gun (S10).

In total: 15 manned turrets, 8 remote turrets, plus the pilot beam and the torpedo bay. A dedicated remote turret control room handles coordination of the remote hardpoints — crew members manage targeting from a centralized station rather than manning each mount individually.

Size, Scale & Crew Requirements

The Odin measures over 750 meters in length. For context: the Javelin is approximately 155 meters, the Idris-P around 240 meters. The Odin is more than three times the length of an Idris. When placed at the Levski jump point — a tunnel roughly 5 kilometers in diameter — the Odin still reads as massive.

The 33-crew minimum is just to fill the manned operator seats. It does not include torpedo loaders, hangar crew, engineers, navigators, or anyone managing the internal tram system. A fully operational Odin needs significantly more than that. CIG designed this explicitly as an organization ship — not a vessel you take out alone for an evening, but a capital that your org deploys as a campaign.

Hangars, Cargo & Interior

The Odin carries its own fighter wing. The hangar arrangement consists of six small bays (three per side, each large enough for Hornets, Cutlasses, Furies, and Pitbulls) plus one medium bay measuring 68m × 100m × 44m. All hangers are interconnected with a fly-through rear — fighters can land directly from behind the ship while it is in motion, funneling into their ready positions without scrambling through individual bay doors.

Cargo is handled across two systems: a 6,000 SCU main hold and a 2,000 SCU elevator that connects the cargo deck to the medium hanger. The elevator alone holds as much as a full Ironclad. Torpedoes are loaded via a dedicated conveyor belt system — crew members pull S12 torpedoes from the cargo grid, load them onto the rotating belt, and they travel up to the torpedo control room for manual tube loading.

Interior highlights confirmed from the CIG showcase:

  • Tram system — 6+ stops connecting the bow turrets, stern turrets, docking collars, and the main elevator hub. The hanger bay is large enough that the tram may be faster than walking end to end.
  • Parliament (briefing room) — A large conference hall for org coordination and mission planning before and during operations.
  • Contemplation room — A dedicated crew relaxation space, away from combat stations.
  • Remote turret control center — A dedicated room where all remote turret operators work together, with command-and-control coordination tools.
  • Bridge with captain's private dome — The commanding officer can generate a privacy field directly on the bridge for confidential conversations mid-combat.
  • Lifeboats — Full escape raft bays distributed throughout the ship (conning tower and main hull), sized for the crew volume.

The $1 Billion Milestone

The Odin's sale at DefenseCon 2956 pushed Star Citizen past $1,000,000,000 in total crowdfunding — a figure no other game in history has reached through player funding alone. CIG raised $5 million in the first 10 minutes of sales. Coverage ran in PC Gamer, Variety, and mainstream tech press well beyond the usual Star Citizen audience.

The Odin sold exclusively to Odin Founders Club members — players selected by CIG based on their history with the game, across six waves over two days (May 24–25, 2026) at $5,000 warbond / $5,900 store credit. Each purchase included 5 exclusive Founders Club paints confirmed by CIG to never be sold again.

That sale window is now permanently closed. The player marketplace is the only way to acquire an Odin going forward.

Can You Buy the Anvil Odin on StarShipDealers?

No — and this applies to the entire secondary market. Ships valued above $1,000 USD cannot be transferred between accounts in Star Citizen. There is no gifting mechanism, no CCU chain, and no escrow process that can move an Odin from one pledge account to another. If you did not receive a Founders Club invitation and purchase during the May 24–25 sale, the Odin is not available to you through any marketplace — SSD included.

What StarShipDealers can do is help you build toward the kind of fleet that complements capital-scale gameplay. If you're serious about running an org at this level, the ships that fill the supporting roles — fighters, interceptors, gunships — are all available on the SSD marketplace with LTI and at player marketplace prices. Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Anvil Odin flyable in Star Citizen right now?

No. The Odin is currently a concept pledge — it has been sold but is not yet in the game as a flyable ship. CIG confirmed it will be obtainable and flyable in-game eventually, but no timeline has been set. Owning the pledge now converts to an in-game ship when it becomes flight-ready.

Can I still buy the Anvil Odin from RSI?

No. The Founders Club sale ran across six waves on May 24–25, 2026 and is now closed. Whether CIG will make the Odin available again in the future is unknown — for now, there is no active way to acquire one. Ships at this value tier ($5,000) cannot be transferred between accounts regardless, so there is no secondary market option either.

How many people do you need to fly the Anvil Odin?

A minimum of 33 to fill all manned turret operator seats. A fully operational crew including torpedo loaders, hangar crew, engineers, and tram coordination runs to 65 or more. CIG designed this explicitly as an organization ship — the full power of the Odin requires coordinated multi-crew gameplay at a scale closer to an MMO raid than a typical Star Citizen session.

What is the Odin's frontal beam weapon?

The frontal beam weapon spans the entire bow of the ship, using 12 emitters (six on each side) that combine into a single unified beam. It is pilot-controlled and is the largest beam weapon ever revealed in Star Citizen. The side panels of the bow open when the beam activates — they serve as heat radiators and are targetable subcomponents that attackers can destroy to disable the weapon.

What ships fit in the Odin's hangars?

The six small hangers (three per side) fit fighters and light ships including Hornets, Cutlasses, Furies, and Pitbulls. The single medium hanger at 68m × 100m × 44m accommodates larger craft. All hangers share one interconnected space with a fly-through rear, so fighters can recover directly from behind the ship during active operations.
